    Civic and Economic Integration through arts and education

     

    This co-op provides a paradigm shift for artists and the communities of Anchorge that have historically been marginalized from economic and educational opportunities. Members of the co-op benefit from having a centralized forum to conduct business in a professional and supportive environment.

    The Anchorage Artist Co-op is a 501(c)(3) incubator organization that provides essential advocacy and economic integration for individual local artists to build, grow and strengthen the cultural industries of Anchorage.

    Global Artists that have found a home in Anchorage

    Artists like Mohammad have found community and support to express stories of his journey to Alaska. Anchorages welcomes familes of all walks of life that contributes to being the most diverse cities in the United States.

    Families and artists come together for Summer Solstice to create a healing wall

    In response to the Orlando shootings, over 100 community members of all ages created the "Healing Wall" to show their love and support to the victims and families.

    Local Artists mentor and educate local youth on the power of art..

    Are you a young artist looking to learn about new mediums? Students will learn about technical art skills in mediums like spoken word and cartooning, but they will also begin to learn the skill necessary to grow a passion into a career!

    Local Artists lead Community Engagement Days

    In partnership with Beans Cafe, downtown’s homeless and hungry day shelter, the Co-op will integrate an art therapy initiative to offer a creative outlet of self-expression and self healing for the clients of the shelter.

     

     

     

     

     

    Youth Advisory Commission (YAC)

    With full support from the Mayor's office, we have partnered with the Youth Commission to provide youth of all ages an opportunity to engage in civic and educational opportunities.

    Free workshops for professional and emerging artists

    Workshops and training sessions for members of the Co-op, families and community groups are available to better position themselves with social and workforce environments

    Co-op Artist Led Civic Day

    On Friday July 8th Lead Co-op Artists joined forces with over 30 community youth to design and paint a mural for Downtown Anchorage
